Urad dal / black lentil or also known as black gram”, is the main ingredient of the South Indian dishes, It is highly nutritious and I will strongly recommended for those who have diabetes.
500 Gms urad dal ( dhuli urad dal, black skin removed)
250 Gms ghee (unsalted butter)
200 Gms sugar (powder)
Roast urad dal in a heavy bottomed frying pan on medium flame till it takes golden color, off the flame, cool it, grind roasted dal to a coarser powder, put it in a bowel add sugar powder and ghee, mix well. Divide it into 18-20 equal parts. Roll each part with the help of palms to get a spherical shape. Collect it in an air tight jar .you may use up to 20 days.
