suji(semolina) laddu


500 gms –suji

300 gms – sugar powder

150 gms – ghee

250 ml –milk

5 tbsp – milk powder

50 gms – cashew nuts (roasted, coarsely chopped)

50 gms – raisins

1/2 tsp elaichi powder


Boil milk,mix milk powder, stir well. Set aside.

Heat ghee in a deep(thick) pan, medium flame, when hot add cashews, fry for 1-2 minutes, color changes to light brown, separate it(chop it coarsely), set aside. Add raisins, fry for 1 minute, remove it. In the remaining hot ghee add suji, stir continually till it turn to light golden color, now gently add hot milk, cashews,raisins and elaichi powder,cook it 7-10 minutes on light flame, off the flame, add sugar powder,mix well to get a uniform thick paste, cool till to handle comfortably,with lightly greased palms prepare the laddus, keep it in cool place, use it for 2-3 days.
