Makes 10-15

Preparation time :  10 Mins.

Cooking time:  20 mins.


For the dough:

1 cup milk

1 1/2 tbsp. yeast

2 tbsp. butter

2 1/4 – 3 cups flour

1 tbsp. sugar

1 tsp. salt

For the filling:

1 cup boiled corn kernels

1 cup boiled green peas

1/3 cup cream cheese

3 tbsp. melted butter

2 tbsp. chopped spring onions

2 tbsp. chopped capsicum

salt, pepper and mustard to taste

For the coating:

2 tbsp. poppyseeds

1 cup breadcrumbs


To make the dough:

Combine the lukewarm milk and yeast and leave till frothy.

Add butter, sugar, salt and flour.  Leave the dough to rise in a greased bowl covered with a wet plastic sheet for 1 1/2 hours.

To make the filling:

Combine the boiled corn kernels, boiled green peas, cream cheese, melted butter, chopped spring onions, chopped capsicum, salt, pepper and mustard to taste.

Roll the dough into small squares, about 2" each.

Place approximately 1 tsp. of filling onto each square, bring the four corners together, sealing with milk.

Dip each bundle into a mixture of poppyseed and breadcrumbs.  Place on greased trays.

Bake at 190 degrees C for 20 mins or till done.  Serve hot.
