Introduction: The vegan protein power smoothie contains all of the essential amino acids (the building blocks for protein) required to build muscle. Not only that, as with all the recipes in the book it tastes pretty damn good too.
1/4 small pineapple
2 apples (Golden Delicious or Royal Gala for preference)
1/2 ripe avocado (de-stoned and peeled)
1 medium banana (peeled)
1/4 teaspoon spirulina (if you haven’t got any just make without)
A few ice cubes
Method: Cut up the pineapple so it fits in the feeder of your juicer and juice it along with the apple. Place the avocado in the blender along with the banana, spirulina, ice and freshly extracted juice. Blend until smooth.
Juices Content following vitamins: Essential fats, All of the essential amino acids, natural sugars, fibre, vitamins A,B,B6, C and E, riboflavin iron, calcium, copper, phosphorus, zinc, boron, niacin, magnesium, folic acid and carotenes. Not bad for a little smoothie with no animal products!
