250 Gms mung dal flour (green gram, green skin removed)
100 Gms ghee (clear unsalted butter)
100 Gms sugar
2 cup water
¼ tsp cardamom powder
1 tbsp sliced almonds
1 tbsp cashew nut
Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed frying pan on medium flame fry almonds and cashew nut for two minutes, take it out, set aside, in reaming hot ghee add mung dal flour, stir constantly, cook until it becomes light brown, sweet aroma comes, stir continuously, switch off the flame, add sugar powder and water, lower the flame, cook until halwa separates from the frying pan. Switch off the flame.
Grease a big tray (metal) using few drops of ghee.
Spread the hot thick mixture on the tray. Cool it.
Garnish with sliced almonds and cashew nuts cool it.
Halva is ready.
