Juice Recipe for arthritic relief

Introduction: There have been many studies which show a clear link between certain foods and drinks and a flare up of osteoarthritis. My short piece of advice is to skip the the solanum (nightshade) family-cooked tomatoes, aubergine, bell peppers, tobacco- as research has shown that certain substances found in these foods (and in tobacco) get in the way of normal collagen repair in the joints and/or promote inflammatory degeneration. Other foods to cut down on or skip altogether are dairy products, oranges, refined sugar (that’s a big one), and excessive alcohol and red meat consumption. Do that and have this juice once a day and you’ll be amazed at how the body, given the chance, can begin to heal.


1/4 grapefruit (pink or white)

1/4 pineapple (fairtrade if you can)

1 apple (Royal Gala, Golden Delicious, or Whatever you fancy- no Granny Smiths!)

1 small handful blackberries

1 inch slice cucumber

ice cubes

Method: Juice all the fruit and veg pour over the ice. Drink slowly and enjoy!

Juices Content following vitamins: Vitamins A, B, B1, B2, B6, B12 and C, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, folic acid, potassium, sulphur, amino acids, antioxidants, pectin, bromeline, malic acid, natural sugars and sodium.
