Guava Sauce


8-10 medium guava ( cut into small cubes )

1/2 tsp. ginger paste

1 tsp. red chili powder

1 tsp. black pepper powder

2 tbsp. lime juice

salt ( as to test)

2 tbsp. sugar

2-3 drops of green color

a pinch of sodium benzoate

1/2 cup water


Cook guava in 1/2 cup of water for 20 minutes on low flame. Pass through a sieve to remove seeds, collect guava puree.

Heat guava puree. Add all the ingredients except color and sodium benzoate, cook on medium heat till mixture reduced to 1/3, remove heat.

Add color and sodium benzoate, stir, cool it naturally. Store in dry air tight bottles.
