Green chilies chutney


10-15 green chilies (caps removed)

1 tbsp. urad dal/black gram

1/4 tsp. cumin seeds

1/2 tsp. mustard seeds

a spring of curry leaves

1 tbsp. veg. oil

1 tsp. sugar

salt to test


heat 1/2 tbsp. oil in a pan, add cumin seeds after 30 seconds add chilies and fry 3-4 mts, take it out, keep aside. Now put urad dal and saute till it turns red, remove it from heat.

Grind chilies, dal, sugar and salt adding 3-4 tbsp. of water to a fine paste.

Now heat remaining oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, as it splutters add curry leaves after few seconds add the paste, off the flame.

Chutney is ready.
