Fig (anjeer) and Date Chutney is not only testy but also improves your health.
- 5 figs, chopped
- 2 cups dates, chopped
- 2 medium orange
- 2 inches fresh ginger, peeled and grated
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1cups brown sugar
- 1cups vinegar
- Salt to taste
Place the orange segments in a heavy- bottomed pan with the figs and dates. Add the orange peel, ginger, chilli flakes, brown sugar, vinegar and salt.
Heat mixture to a boil, lower heat and simmer for approximately 1/2 hour, or until the mixture is thick.
Transfer the chutney into a bottle.
Chutney is ready.
