Dalia with green pea and carrot

ingredients

1 cup broken wheat (Dalia)

½ cup shelled green peas

2 small carrots, diced

2 tbsp ghee

½ tsp cumin seeds

5 garlic cloves, chopped

1 small onion, chopped

1green chilli, chopped

½ tsp ginger, chopped

¼ tsp turmeric powder

1 medium tomato, seeded and chopped

Salt to taste

2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves

2 tbsp butter (or 1tbsp ghee)

Method

Heat 1tbsp ghee in a pan on low flame, add Dalia, stir till it becomes golden brown, remove it.

Heat the remaining ghee in a pressure cooker and add the cumin seeds, as they begin to change colour, add the garlic, chilli, ginger, onion and sauté till pink; add the green peas, carrots and tomato and saute for one minute.

Add the Dalia and three cups of water; add salt to taste.

Bring the mixture to a boil, give it full pressure. Remove heat.

Stir in the butter and coriander leaves and serve at once.
